ive been interviewing candidates for 5 years. the last 2 years have been rough:
- candidates who cant explain their own resume projects
- code that was clearly written by chatgpt (comments say "as an AI language model")
- system design answers verbatim from youtube prep videos
- basic CS concepts met with blank stares

the chatgpt resume thing is REAL. i interviewed someone whose resume said they built a "distributed message queue." when i asked they said "oh i used chatgpt to help"
