thread safe byte-sized file cache w eviction. start w hashmap + DLL (LRU style). then they add concurrent access and ask you to make it safe with the smallest critical sections. did coarse mutex first, then they pushed for finer grain. used read-write lock on the DLL with a separate lock for the hashmap. interviewer seemed satisfied
