got "promoted" to tech lead 6 months ago. its not a promotion. its the same IC pay plus:
- running sprint ceremonies
- unblocking people all day
- mediating conflicts between engineers
- being responsible for the teams output but having no authority over priorities
responsibility without authority is the worst combination in corporate america
