not looking for sympathy. just want to know if others experience this.
- being talked over in every meeting
- getting assigned the "soft" work (docs, project management)
- being called "aggressive" when i push back. men doing the same are "passionate"
- assumptions that im a PM or designer when new people join
- slack banter is all gaming and sports references
none of this is malicious. its just death by a thousand cuts.

woman in tech here. every single bullet point resonates. the docs assignment thing is the one that gets me

"not malicious, death by a thousand cuts" is the perfect description. most people doing this would be horrified if you pointed it out

as a male engineer: what can we actually DO? serious question. ive started explicitly deferring to women in meetings but im not sure if thats helpful or patronizing
