E4 at meta. 2 years in. got the email this morning.
30 days to "demonstrate sustained improvement" which we all know means 30 days to find a new job.
ask me anything. i have nothing left to lose lol

what was the reason they gave? genuine underperformance or political?

they said i wasnt "operating at E4 level" after a reorg where my scope got cut in half. hard to show E4 impact when your project gets deprioritized and you're doing E3 work

this is the most common PIP story at meta. reorg -> scope cut -> "not operating at level" -> PIP. it's a machine

start applying TODAY. not tomorrow. today. your 30 days will vanish and you need 2-3 weeks just to get phone screens scheduled. every day you spend trying to fight the PIP is a day you didnt spend on your exit

do NOT sign anything without reading it. if they offer you a separation agreement check if there's a severance attached and whether it has a non-disparagement clause. consult a lawyer if its more than 0 dollars

been there. got pip'd at google in 2024. felt like the world was ending. 6 weeks later i had an offer at stripe for 40k more TC. sometimes the PIP is the best thing that happens to you
